A scheme providing opportunities for students to pursue post-16 A-level education in the UK at the prestigious Embley Park Ind ependent School in England. Exceptionally gifted and talented can secure an academic scholarship and also develop their football career with Southampton FC Academy.
This opportunity is also open to those who wish to pursue a course of study independently through either the A-level or BTEC route
This qualification is linear. Linear means that students will sit all their exams and submit all their non-exam assessments at the end of the course. 3 A-levels secures a place at University
The course examines sports performance from a number of different perspectives with a strong scientific grounding investigating the principles of human performance
Learners will also develop employability skills in areas such as sports coaching, fitness training and sports massage. Alongside these, learners will explore and apply the concepts of research and consider how sport interacts with wider society. These themes are delivered across 2 years within 13 units of theoretical and practical study. Successful completion of this course will give the learner UCAS points equivalent to 3 A Levels. Learners use the qualification to gain access to Solent University.
The BTEC course offers the opportunity to take part in a football academy in conjunction with a local football club.
